Doroteo Verastegui Rayo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, assigned to the School of Mining and Industrial Engineering in Almadén. He received his engineering degree from Universidad de Córdoba in 1988, his BSc in business finance and stock market analysis from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 1991, and his PhD from Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha in 2006.

His current research interests include optimisation and, particularly, optimisation in transport.
